Neal started out studying under Charles
Schultz (creator of the Peanuts characters). He went to the McDowell
Art Institute, then on to Ethiopia as an illustrator, drawing
training aids for the U.S. Army. While color is used in some of
his works, most of his drawings are black and white. Neal says
the art form is a rare medium. The problem with pen and ink drawing
is there's zero room for error. Neal says, "I can't
draw without Beethoven, and I can't listen to Beethoven without
drawing."
Neal can be commissioned for a pen and ink drawing
of your house from a photograph.
