SEA
OF DREAMS
An ethereal picture. The
ocean is present, but unseen. The vantage point is
slightly elevated, the way a passing bird might see
it. It allows the image to 'float'.

LANDWARD
SIDE
The most difficult effect
to achieve in realism is to suggest the presence of
something without showing it. The ocean here is unseen,
but its movements can be suggested through subtle motion
in the grassy terrain.

MIDNIGHT
RIDE
Pure whimsy, but a serious
attempt at the manipulation of light and shadow and
distorted perspective. The witch is leaving early
to avoid the rush!.

TREE
HOUSE
An early picture. I actually
built one like this with a friend when I was a kid. About
twenty years later the tree spit it back out in pieces.
I guess enough was enough.

ISLANDER
A study in vastness, distance
and wind, and the movement of currents. The mood
is solitary.

PALMS,
KEY WEST
Realism and abstraction combined.
The play of sunlight on the translucent palm leaves makes
it difficult to distinguish what is solid and what isn't.
